COMPRESS (OR DISAPPEAR?)

We live in an era of constant change and constant motion, in which everything is unstable, fragmented and dispersed, determined by short-terming and permanent uncertainty.
Technological evolution and digital revolution have altered and accelerated our way of thinking, acting and living our daily life. We are online creatures, always connected and surrounded by gadgets. Screens are always nearby, are part of us, changing and influencing our way of perceiving the world. Through them, we can hide, widen, distort or delete forever, virtual actions that are becoming intrinsic to the subconscious of the post-digital generation.
We are experiencing a fast-moving process of “digital duplication of the world”, that is starting to invade our own physical existence, making us more and more codified each day.
Today, we replace the touch of human skin by the super smooth surface of the smartphone.
Compress (or Disappear?) brings together a selection of texts which features some reflections of a liquid post-digital culture, making us question the future of our species.
Are we able to choose, or are we forced to update ourselves?
